no april fools joke today

This is the second time we've gone to the Greek Flame Taverna, one of the best (if not the best) Greek restaurants in Orlando. And it's close to us, in the Marketplace. The last time we were there was our first time back in 2011, right before our youngest daughter graduated from FSU.

I took my wife and I there tonight because my wife found out today that she's going to have to have hip surgery on her right hip. She's been trying so hard to avoid any more surgery through her diligently exercising at RDV, but it just wasn't meant to be. At a minimum the orthopedic surgeon told her they could just clean the joint, which would be the minimal amount of invasive surgery. But it was enough to spin her into a dark mood, and I can certainly understand why.

So rather than have her sit at home this evening and stew I took her out for a nice Greek dinner. She had stuffed chicken with feta cheese and spinach, and I had flaming spaghetti. They were tonight's specials. We did something rare, and ordered dessert afterwards; she had some sort of hairy baklava and I had a Greek brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. Our waiter was excellent.

By the time we left it was dark, but my wife's mood wasn't. We made a promise to one another to go  back at least once per month. At the very least we need to go back and sample their spanakopita. I love a good spanakopita.

Oh. I ordered and downloaded NIK Collection from Google. They had a 20% off code that dropped the price down from the $150 for all their effects plugins. I  figured, what the heck. I tried out the Nik Color Efex Pro 2 plugin on the photo. It was dark, I just make it a little darker.
